Job Overview

Our RNs perform skilled nursing infusion services and clinical tasks associated with patient infusion home care, including assessment, obtaining IV access, education, infusion, and coordination of care.

This is a Per Diem/PRN position. The hours vary per month depending on the needs of the department director. RNs are assigned home infusion patients and travel to their homes to provide home infusions as ordered by their providers.

We strive to go above and beyond for our clients, no matter the challenge. We strive to deliver our very best work every single day across our services, such as IV placement and infusion of medication via IV, Central, or PICC lines depending on the patient. 

Services also include dressing changes, blood draws, medication reconciliation, and education. This position is very autonomous, which means you as a nurse are in charge of assessing and performing nursing actions for patient care based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge within your scope of practice.

 

Superior Nursing serves communities in all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. We also provide coverage to parts of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

● Coordinates and schedules care with their list of managed patients, along with other clerical duties to confirm their patient visits.

● Tracks patient supply needs and orders them based on pharmacy protocol.

● Prepares or compounds sterile admixtures per MD orders for immediate use when required.

● Completes and submits nursing and progress notes, including admission and assessments per policy, on the  same visit day.

● Ensures proper labeling of medications in the home.

● Manages the emergency supply kit, including monthly expiration checks, and ordering new supplies as needed.

● Completes a full medication profile review at every visit.

● Ensures a clean environment for infusion preparation and administration in the home.

● Complete any lab draws and drop them off at local drop off locations as per MD orders.

Qualification Requirements:

● License as a registered nurse in the state of care required.

● Registered nurses must have a minimum of one year of experience in a high-acuity facility. Critical care experience is preferred.

● General infusion experience is required. Specialty training is provided.

● Strong IV skills are required.

● Port experience is preferred.

● CRNI, IGCN, or other IV certifications are preferred.

● Possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.

● BLS certification is required.

● Proof of immunizations is required.

● A willingness to learn.

● Provide the highest level of professionalism, responsiveness, and communication to

build and maintain the largest customer base possible.

● Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

● A valid driver’ss license, maintaining automobile insurance coverage, and having access a reliable automobile are required.

● Personal professional liability insurance: If you do not currently hold professional liability insurance, please still apply. We can assist with this.

● Must pass background check and drug test
